Msn emoticons show up as letters and numbers ?

The past week, when I send an emoticon (smile face) it shows up on the "recipients " MSN box as letters and numbers ?!!?





I KNOW all my friends have the current version of MSN messenger as I do, And I have NEVER had this problem before !





Please help !!





EXAMPLE: Smile emoticon shows as "ls409"

you cannot see that icon because the contact is using a programme and if you aren't using the same programme you cannot see it

P.S. "ls409" is the keyboard shortcut of the custom emoticon, I can't see 'cause I don't have it ;)
