i have very cool custom emoticons i dont wanna lose them after installing new windows :( how plzzzzzz ?

then go to Microsoft, MSN Messenger, you should see some account numbers, find out which is yours, then go to it, then go to CustomEmoticons, and they will be in .DAT files, you can just change the extension to .GIF.

Reply:I don't think you can. I know that display pictures, personal messages, and msn names are transferred, even when using a different computer, but emoticons aren't, so it's quite unlikely that they'll transfer between updates.
Reply:They should still be saved on your computer still and if there not then you can proably find the custom emoticions some where on the internet, try looking in all of your folders on the computer and they will proably be saved.
