then write a shortcut .. for example :) for a smile (so everytime you tipe :) in a conversation the smiley will appear)

anyway writing a conversation you can click on the yellow face .. and select there the icon you want by a click .. so it will appear in the conversation, but learning the shortcuts it will be faster^^

I have msn 8.5 version, if i update to latest will i lose all my emoticons?

Will upgrading to the latest msn cause me to lose my emoticons from my 8.5 version.. Have many favourites and dont want to lose them .

No, you will not lose any of your emoticons when you upgrade to the latest msn messenger. I have upgraded my msn messenger many times but I have never ever lost any of my emoticons.

no you won't loose them, even if you delete msn and re-install it they will probably be there still; it is only on a different computer that they will not appear...

Why cant i see emoticons on msn?

i have msn 7.0 macintosh version. i put hearts in my msn screen name and i cant see them, it only shows up as (L) like that. i can see the emoticons in instant messages but not my screen name, can i change this?

Where are my msn emoticons?

noone knows the answer! pls tell me where the hell are my msn emoticons in my pc? i tried to search them by name but i couldnt find the file? pls help bcs i wanna find them and burn them on disc in order to use them on other computers

where SOME_NUMBER is some random number that I have no idea what it means. The emoticons are saved as dat files. If you right click on one and choose "Open with... Windows Image and Fax Viewer", you will be able to see the emoticon. Alternatively, once you know what kind of emoticon it is (animated or not animated), you may copy the emoticon to another place and then rename it to the correct file type.





Note: The "Application Data" folder is a system folder and is normally hidden. However, if you type the path in directly you will be able to go into the folder. Alternatively you may set your system to display system folders under Tools --%26gt; Folder Option under any folder. Make sure you don't alter anything inside as it may have serious consequences.

Windows live messenger isn't displaying any emoticons in the chat or in display names in the contact list.. it wont display normal ones or custom.. how can i fix this?

everytime i get new emoticons for windows live messenger my friends copy them and i dont like it.I want to know if there is any way for stopping my friends copying them.I told to my friends not to do it and they wont hear
